On A Treasure Hunt
This morning I was reading in Isaiah 22. Then I picked up one of my Bible commentaries, "The Bible Knowledge Commentary of the Old Testament" and read in this chapter Isaiah is describing the siege of the Assyrian army against the city of Jerusalem in 701 BC. In anticipation of the siege, King Hezekiah had an underground tunnel built to connect to connect the city to an internal water source (they could outlast any siege almost indefinitely). This tunnel is still there and is called "Hezekiah's tunnel". I then Youtube'd Hezekiah's tunnel and found a great short video tour of that tunnel.
Your Bible reading and study doesn't have to be dry and boring and leave you wondering why you even did it in the first place.
With the right set of Bible tools--
a good commentary,
dictionary and
handbook;
add to that a curious mind with a good Google search question and Bible study becomes an adventure for buried treasure with the Holy Spirit as your guide!
