Can Grace Cause You to Stumble?

 

I recently heard a well-meaning believer say "But even Grace can cause someone to stumble." God forbid! That is a lie from the pit of Hell. The Grace from God has never caused anyone to stumble. The Grace of God leads a person to repentance. The Grace of God saves a person through faith. The Grace of God keeps them and empowers the believer to live a righteous life through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. What causes a believer to sin is they are not crucifying (putting to death) the flesh (the old man) and living by faith in the redemptive power of what Christ has already purchased for them on the cross. They are not choosing to live in the empowering Grace of God that saves them, makes them holy, and keeps them. Instead,
