The Wicked Despise the Godly Devotional
Proverbs 29:27 …the wicked despise the godly.
Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life. He demonstrated the purest love and deepest compassion to all. He fed the hungry, healed the sick, gave his all, yet in the end the masses turned on him and cried, "Crucify him!" So do not be surprised when your good works are rejected and you are attacked. To the unrepentant, stubborn wicked heart the actions of a person of upright character and integrity are a blatant and offensive reminder of their own wickedness and depravity. So do not faint in well doing; they hated Christ, they will hate you. Beware if you are not persecuted or suffer for Truth and righteousness; remember the world loves its own (John 15:9).

Repent Why do I need to change?
Dear God. Forgive me for desiring the favor of the world over desiring your favor and approval. Give me the strength to live an upright life and to endure persecution for your sake in love and humility. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
