Six Filled with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Last night in our midweek service I had asked our Pastor of Evangelism, Alex "Jando" Serna,  to preach but instead God had other plans.  During the Praise & Worship time the presence of the Holy Spirit was very strong and clearly God showed up to "inhabit the praises of His people."  Pastor Paula Crist, the founding pastor, took the microphone and began to declare the Kingship and Glory of God through prophetic song.  She handed the microphone back to me and I began to read and declare Psalm 24 over the congregation.  This psalm asks the question, "Who is the King of Glory?" and then answers the question with "The Lord strong and mighty." The entire assembly began to worship the King of Glory with shouts of victory.  That's when the request for anyone who desires to be filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in a heavenly language, or tongues, to come forward.  About 10 people came to the front.  I took about 5 minutes to build their faith by articulating exactly what the Bible says about the infilling of the Holy Spirit and how to receive.  Within twenty minutes, six of the ten people were rejoicing, crying, and praying in a brand new prayer language.  God, the Holy Spirit, filled them with His active presence for witness and power.  Afterwards two people stated they had been seeking for years and that night God answered their hearts desire.  I don't always understand why God fills some instantly and others return again and again hoping and praying but I do understand the Scripture and know the Baptism is for all believers and He wants us to ask Him. Praise the Lord He is filling His children with the Holy Spirit today just like He did in the Book of Acts.  I have the same question for you that the Apostle Paul asked the believers in Ephesus (Acts 19) "Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?"  If it was that important then, how much more today.

"Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
8Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.
9Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
10Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory.
Selah
