The Religion of Politics 1
When GOV replaces GOD politics becomes a religion. Its roots go all the way back to the Tower of Babel in Genesis chapter eleven. Later in Ancient Egypt, Pharoh was a god. In the Persian Empire, Alexander the Great was considered a god. In the ancient Roman Empire, Caesar demanded worship as a god. Modern society and governments may be more sophisticated, but the worship of our Rulers and looking to the government to save us from all our problems is still alive and well, and not just in North Korea, it has crept into American politics.
This Sunday at CWC I will be preaching on how you can know if you have been infected with the symptoms of ruler worship. You may be surprised, you can worship a god and not even know it.
