Summer of the Supernatural 2017
I'll ask you the same question the Apostle Paul asked twelve believers he met in Ephesus (Acts 19), "Have you received the Holy Spirit when you became a believer?" They hadn't heard of the Spirit baptism and when Paul laid his hands on them and prayed for them to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit it says, "the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying (Acts 19:6).
Amazing and awesome things began to happen when believers asked for and received the baptism in the Holy Spirit. This was an experience where the Holy Spirit supercharged them with power and effectiveness to live a bold and courageous life for God. After the gift of salvation, God gave them another gift! Isn't that just like God? Always giving and doing more than expected.
If your life in Christ is dull or boring and has lost some of it's "shine", then I ask you again...Have you been filled with the Holy Spirit? That is the antidote to the boring Christian life, which far too many believers live in.
This summer we are kicking off the celebration of the Holy Spirit on a very appropriate date, Pentecost Sunday, June 4th. We're going to travel back to 1st century Jerusalem and explore the foundation of the "promise of the Father" Jesus repeatedly taught to his disciples. If Jesus told them to wait for "another Comforter" then it's time we wait for Him too!
Then starting Wednesday, June 7th, we will watch a docu-movie called "Paid in Full" by Healing Evangelist Art Thomas. This will begin a ten week series on living in the supernatural, and learn how to be led by the Holy Spirit to share our faith and exercise the spiritual gifts that come with the Holy Spirit to see miracles that heal the sick and confirm the truth of the Word of God. Then it gets even better! Healing Evangelist Art Thomas is coming to Calvary Worship Center! He will teach a Healing Ministry Training Seminar Saturday, June 17, from 10:00-2:00 pm. There is a small fee and it includes lunch, so sign up here to reserve your place.
Then we will have a Healing Service Saturday night at 6:00 pm. This is an excellent opportunity to invite your friends and anyone who is sick and needs a supernatural touch from God. God will show up, there will be miracles.
Evangelist Art Thomas will then preach Sunday morning, June 18th, and minister in the gifts as the Lord directs. This is Father's Day as well so bring the whole family and plan to celebrate the wonders of God together.
