The Bible is Made from Death

The Word of God was first carved in stone. Then inked on animal skin (leather scrolls). Then clothed in human flesh (Christ). Now it's printed on wood (paper pulp) and wrapped in animal skin (leather cover). A tree must die to produce paper and an animal must die to provide leather. The very words that produce life are enveloped in remnants of death. May the pages of your Bible today remind you of the wooden cross and the leather cover that without death and the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin that leads to eternal life.
